Hickory Hurst Farm grows a wide variety of certified organic vegetables from asparagus to zucchini. Our veggie specialties include greens, green beans, peas, and heirloom tomatoes and peppers. While we grow most of our vegetables in the field, we do grow some in our hoophouses for earlier harvesting.
Our homegrown certified organic veggies include asparagus, beans (dry, green, yellow), beets, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, cukes, greens, kohlrabi, onions/scallions, parsnips, peas, peppers, potatoes, radishes, pumpkins, salsify, shallots, summer squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomatillos, winter squash, zucchini.
Spring finds us harvesting our certified organic rhubarb, followed by organic gooseberries, blueberries, and raspberries for fresh eating.
We supplement our farm stand with other locally grown fruit (in season), including peaches, and apples.
Selected heirloom tomatoes have included Nebraska Wedding, Ukranian Purple, Trucker's Favorite, John Baer, Bean's Yellow Pear, Black Cherry, Green Grape, Green Zebra, Chalk's Early Jewel, and Black Sea Man.
Our greens include arugula, Asian greens, beet greens, collards, kale, lettuce, mixed greens, spinach, and turnip greens.
We supplement our farm stand
with local brown eggs, maple syrup products, and cheese.
