Hickory Hurst Farm grows a wide variety of certified organic vegetables. Our veggie specialties include greens, green beans, peas, and heirloom tomatoes and peppers. We love to grow more of the unusual or unknown such as artichoke, salsify, sesame, and mustard seed. The hoophouses allow us to extend and growing season and facilitate earlier harvesting.
Our certified organic veggies include asparagus--beans (dry/pole/snap/wax)--beets--Brussels sprouts--cabbage--carrots--celery--cukes--greens--kohlrabi--onions/scallions--parsnips--peas--peppers--potatoes--radishes--pumpkins--salsify--shallots--summer squash--sweet potatoes--tomatoes--tomatillos--and winter squash.
Spring finds us harvesting our certified organic rhubarb, followed by organic gooseberries, blueberries, and raspberries for fresh eating.
We supplement our farm stand with other locally grown fruit (in season), including peaches, and apples.
Heirloom varieties of tomatoes for this year--2018--will include Amish Paste, Black Cherry, Lemon Drop, Kangaroo Yellow Paw, Nebraska Wedding, Wapsipincon Peach.
Our greens include arugula, Asian greens, beet greens, collards, endive, kale, lettuce, mixed greens, mustard, spinach, Swiss chard, and turnip greens.
We supplement our farm stand with local brown eggs, maple syrup products, and cheese.
